AQUA-LAB consists of : • MAIN UNIT for connection to the specific sensors and to the Control-Lab • CONTROL-LAB, computerised system complete of the Aqua- Lab SOFTWARE • CONE sensor, to control any type of textile cone • FIBER sensor, to control all types of raw fibers and tops The system is available equipped with single sensor or both. Main features: • High volume measurements (less then 1 sec. each) • Regain% and Humidity% values. • No calibration required (other instantaneous systems need it every day for each type of textile material). • High accuracy of results (similar to those obtained with standard conditioning cabinets). • Non-destructive testing method (very important in case of luxury materials like cashmere, silk, wool, tencel, etc.) • Results are NOT influenced by the weight of the package, its dimensions, its density and environmental conditions like temperature and humidity. • Data can be exported to a central data system for the automatic calculation of the commercial humidity of the lot and the issue of the related delivery note and invoice. Moisture in textiles is a determining factor in the fibre and yarn trading business and an essential criterion for the final quality evaluation: TRADING: according to international commercial standards fibre and yarn price includes a maximum allowed moisture (water) content known as REGAIN, being the importance of the water content control in such transactions quite obvious. QUALITY: some faults in fabrics might arise as a consequence of a different yarn moisture content, like "barre’" defects in the final product, dimensional stability problems, etc. AQUA-LAB is an innovative and instantaneous moisture measuring system with HIGH-VOLUME measurement control. The measurement pri nciple is based on low power radiofrequency weave : the weave penetrates into the textile sample package and detects the humidity value inside it, besides reading the external value. If compared to other systems on the market, the highly accurate results obtained with the AQUA-LAB are very near to the results given by conditioning cabinets like Scirocco or Libeccio. The AQUA-LAB software cames complete with humidity scales for the most important types of fibre, such as: cotton, worsted and carded wool, cashmere, silk, viscose, linen. On request customised scales for blended samples can be supplied too.
